A Brief Biography

Mr. Le Tri was born in 1938 at Hoa Thuan, Hoa Da, Binh Thuan province, Vietnam. In 1961, he was a teacher in mathematics, physics and chemistry at Dong Tien and Khai Tri schools.

In 1964 he joined South Vietnam and trained at  Thu Duc Military Academy. Later he attended the Okinawa Pacific Intelligence School in Japan 1965. After graduation, he returned to Vietnam and held an intelligence position in unit 101.  He continued teaching at Long An, to conceal his intelligence activities, He continued teaching at Long An school.

Mr. Tri has had a passion for photography since he attended Okinawa school. Besides, his hobby was collecting stamps from 1955 until 1975.

After the Fall of Saigon, he was held at “re-education camp” for 13 years.  During this time he made many musical instruments including a violin that he donated to VHM. He also donated a Republic of South Vietnam stamps collection from 1955 to 1975 with many unreleased stamps.  

In 1993, he settled in the US under The Orderly Departure Program (ODP), he worked at social service and retired in 2003.
