When Mr. Hanh became physically handicapped person in the concentration camp, he had thoughts of suicide. Even if he died, he had to die in a meaningful fashion, so he started thinking and crafting a little knife that the officials believed he only made “a razor knife”. He planned to find a hiding place, at noon to commemorate the April 30, 1981 he would use this knife to cut a blood vessel in his wrist, dripping his bloodstream into three red stripes on a yellow handkerchiefs , and kept bleeding until he died beside the flag of the Republic of Vietnam that he respected. He chose to die in the indomitable spirit of a South Vietnam Officer in the communist concentration camp.
