Every artifact holds
a soul that refused to be lost.
When the Vietnamese Heritage Museum opened its doors ten years ago, it made a quiet promise to a community still healing — that your stories matter, your sacrifices will be remembered, and your culture will endure.
We were founded on the belief that history is not just what happened — it is who we become because of it. Our founders knew that the first generation of Vietnamese Americans carried an irreplaceable archive in their hands, in their kitchens, in the songs they sang to their children. As those years passed, we became the keeper of that archive — not in cold storage, but in living, breathing exhibition.
“My grandmother wept when she saw her áo dài behind the glass. She said, ‘Someone finally sees us.’ That is why this museum exists.”
— Community Member, Orange County
Ten years. Thousands of artifacts collected. Hundreds of oral histories recorded. Dozens of exhibitions mounted. Countless schoolchildren who now know what their neighbors lived through. This anniversary is not just ours — it belongs to every family who trusted us with their most precious possessions.
A DECADE OF IMPACT
What ten years of dedication looks like
Numbers that represent real families, real stories, real lives.
10000
More than ten thousand objects entrusted by refugee families — each one carrying memory, sacrifice, and survival
350
Voices of elders, survivors, and community builders documented so future generations can still hear them
20000
Students, families, and first-time guests who encountered Vietnamese history not as abstraction, but as living human experience
A far-reaching digital footprint proving these stories resonate well beyond our walls and across generations
