This video is taken by Mr. Jan Top Christensen, Head of UNHCR Field Office in PFAC, Palawan, Philippines, in 1989. It offers a glimpse of refugee life in PFAC, commonly known as Palawan camp, in those days – a time of uncertainty, of desperation, and of hope. For those involved – Vietnamese refugees who later resettled in a third country or forced to repatriate, Filipino hosts who worked in the camp or supported it in one way or another, foreigners who volunteered their time and energy for various projects, this experience is an unforgettable memory, to be cherished, and retold to their descendants in years to come.
