Kuku camp is located in the Indonesian Anambas Islands, east of Malaysia, this island camp saw around 40,000 Vietnamese refugees pass through. The camp was known for its harshness with limited food, medical assistance and military brutality. This camp temporarily held Vietnamese arrivals in military tents before their refugee-screening interview and subsequent transfer to other camps.
