Summary
Vietnamese boats that made a “direct landing” were burned.
One day, during monsoon, some Thai fishing boats sought shelter near the island; a large crowd gathered, many having been attacked on their way from Viet Nam.
Near the jetty was the wreck of a VN boat that had rammed into the beach some years before, after having been towed away from the island. A number of people on board were killed.
Sunsets occasionally were spectacular.
