On the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the fall of the Republic of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Heritage Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is pleased to announce the unveiling of the Boat of Hope on May 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 13962 Seaboard Circle, Garden Grove, CA 92843.

The Republic of Vietnam’s Flag and an American Friend

Mr. Frank Snepp, a former CIA officer, offered a flag of the Republic of Vietnam to The Vietnamese Heritage Museum. He has kept this flag since 1969 and brought it with him when he left the American Embassy in Saigon in 1975.

Memorial Walls

At the Memorial Walls, survivors and family members can remember their loved ones. They will be able to remember the Boat People’s escape journeys to find freedom. The Vietnamese Political Prisoner survivors and family members can evoke memories of their tormented and murdered loved ones worthily with piety at the “Re-education” Camp Memorial Wall. Where the listed names and relevant information will serve as an eternal memento place.

Oral History

Through these oral history interviews, we will be able to learn and celebrate the personal experiences of notable Vietnamese-Americans, who offer their own accounts of history. These interviews document aspects of the historical experience of Vietnamese refugees, immigration, and settlement, which tend to be missing from most mainstream sources. These oral history documentaries will provide an avenue for both understanding and appreciating of the present and future generations of Vietnamese refugees throughout the world.
